Welcome to the American Royal Barbecue. This year our festival is filled with great delights - wonderful performances, free events, and lots of fun - as well as workshops, master classes and informative demonstrations.
It is a special year for us, one in which we have focused on the American Royal Barbecue mission not only to bring nationally and internationally renowned artists into our midst, but to give back to the community through free events and community partnerships designed to showcase local artists.
The American Royal Barbecue is set to enrapture festival lovers once again. Our venue will leave you fascinated, captivated and enthralled. With performances ranging from classic to contemporary, traditional to avant-garde, each act will inspire you to greater heights.
American Royal Barbecue Claiming to be the world's largest open barbecue contest, this finger-licking event sees as many as 375 teams competing in a series of sizzling challenges at the American Royal Complex.
Chefs battle it out for prize money totaling US$60,000 and the accolade of producing such winners as "the best sauce on the planet." Other events include side dish and bone-art creations and the saucy-sounding Rub and Baste Contest. There's also a Barbecue Expo in which vendors of specialty barbecue items display their wares.
To top all of this, barbecue spaces are enthusiastically decorated by contestants in yet another competition to win the best-dressed space.
